Tournaments are the a series of chess games played competitively with multiple opponents.

There are 2 types of tournaments on FOA:

1) FIDE Online Arena rated tournaments

You can participate in them only if you are a PRO member. Your results will affect your FIDE Online Arena rating.

2) World Chess rated tournaments

You can participate in them if you have either with Free or with PRO Account. Your results will affect your World Chess rating.

To choose and join a tournament, go to the Tournaments section to choose the tournament.

Set the type of the tournament, control, date etc. According to your preferences. Let’s say we’d like to play a Swiss system tournament on 12th of December with no entry fee and we do not mind the control.

Arena will suggest you a tournament. Click on it and then on the "Join" button. You will be notified by email 30 minutes before the tournament starts.
